Is SEO dead? We lost a third of our traffic — here's my honest answer

so people has been saying this for a while that seo is dead seo is dying from the launch of the products like perplexity and the from launch of people like open ai adding the web search support it has always been a question that what will happen to the internet what will happen to the future of the web where people are writing content like for example me i am sanskar i am running a product called magic slides our major traffic source is actually seo so last month we actually had one third of the track which we used to come uh so by the way one point which you need to keep in mind is seo has been the most reliable source of traffic compared to any platforms ever like if you post on instagram today you have good reach tomorrow you might not but seo has been a very good the reason for that has been because it's more search intent people were searching for exactly something and then we can rank there and you can get traffic but now what is happening is google and all these different platforms are rather than being the link sources where you can actually get a chance to rank they are going to give the direct answers and that really makes a question that is seo dead so to answer this question what i wanted to share is what we have been doing at iag at our company magic slides so for the last two years we have had more than four writers at a time like now we have two the way i am have been handling this is to understand the intent of the customers so think of it this way my strategy to handle this was anything which can be answered by ai in just a textual format should not be a blog basically what we did was we focused on how to articles i actually just made a reel about how uh opening i have shared that that the 10 usage or actually eight point some percentage of usage of chat gpt is to ask how to do stuff and you can answer that question with some text by saying do this do this do this or you can have a screenshot step-by-step instructions on how exactly to do something and that's exactly what we have been doing if you visit magic slides.com slash blog you'll find blogs about powerpoint which shows you step by step on how to do things we wrote articles about powerpoint we wrote articles about google slides because we are magic slides we're building an alternative to powerpoint so that is the approach we do so what is the answer to is seo dead my theory is seo is not dead basically uh it's removing um the traffic from the websites which were answering something which can be asked on just text so if you're someone who is doing that answering some questions on text either you should have more information so basically what i think of it as it's going to force people to improve their quality of their content and it's going to really make the web a very great place you cannot stop the improvements or the new things to come you can only improve yourself so that's what we have been doing i hope you execute the same and i'll see you in the next one
