0:58

Localisation done in columns, with the tone note that beats Google Translate.

Transcript preview

Translation is the job with the least competition at the freelance level, and the highest repeat rate. One catalogue, six languages, all in columns. One column per language. Notice the dollar sign before B. That locks the source column, so you can copy this formula sideways and just change the language name in each one. Two instructions make this better than free machine translation. Keep the marketing tone, so it reads like copy and not like a manual. And do not translate brand or product names, which is the single most embarrassing mistake machine translation makes. And be straight with the client about this. You deliver A I translation, reviewed for consistency, priced well below a human translator. If they want a native speaker to sign it off, that is a paid add on. Honesty here keeps the relationship and still wins the job on price. Thirty to eighty rupees per item per language. Five hundred items into three languages is forty five thousand to one lakh twenty. And it is the same drag you already know.
