Lesson 16.1 — Share it as a link, and stop guessing

Everything we have done so far ends with a file. This lesson ends with a link, and a link can tell you something a file never will. Share is tucked under the three dot menu at the top right, next to speaker notes. It is easy to miss, which is why almost nobody uses the part of the product I am about to show you. Now read these two tabs carefully, because people get this wrong. Share chat gives them the whole conversation, including your prompt and the research. Share P P T gives them only the deck. For a client, you almost always want share P P T. You do not need them reading how the sausage was made. You either invite named people by email with a can view role, or you create a public link that anyone can open. And notice delete public link sitting underneath. Sharing is reversible, which is the thing that makes it safe to do at all. And here is the real reason. You email a PowerPoint and you have no idea what happened to it. Send a link and you find out whether it was opened, and how far through they got before they stopped. In the next lesson we look at exactly that.…
