Lesson 5.2 — What actually comes across, and what does not

This is the honest lesson. Some of what is in your P D F makes it onto the slides, and some of it does not, and I would rather you learn that from me than from a client meeting. The writing is genuinely good. Seventy two percent of adults doing at least okay financially. Sixty five percent naming inflation. Those are not invented, they are pulled out of the report and put on the right slide. One slide even says the report does not answer this question, instead of making something up, which I did not expect. But look at this. Figure six, on page ten, the main financial challenges chart. This is the chart the deck should be built around. It never arrives. And the reason is not a bug you can complain about. Charts in a professional report are drawn as lines and shapes, not saved as pictures. So there is no image file sitting in the P D F to pull out. Nothing can extract a photo that does not exist. If your P D F is an exported deck or a scanned page, the charts are real images and they do come across. If it is a typeset report like this one, plan on rebuilding the chart yourself.…
