Lesson 3.5 — Pick the model, not just the prompt

There is a control sitting in plain sight that almost nobody clicks, and it changes the output more than most prompt tweaks do. Click the model name next to the attach button. You get a list, and each one is labelled with its trade off. Highest quality but slower. Fastest, great for edits. Budget options. This is not decoration, these are genuinely different models. Here is how I actually choose. For edits and quick redrafts I use a fast model, because I am going to change it again in a minute anyway. For anything going to a client or an investor, I use the highest quality option and accept that it is slower. And when I am just exploring an idea I will throw away, I use a budget one. And this matters more than it looks. The same prompt through a slower, stronger model tends to argue a point. Through a fast one it tends to summarise.
