Lesson 6.2 — The chart in your doc lands on the slide

In the last module the chart never made it. Here it does, and I want you to actually watch it happen rather than take my word for it. First, this little chip in the chat. View source data, one image. That is it telling you it found the chart inside my Word file. Click it any time and you can see exactly what it pulled out. And here is slide four. Regional Revenue Breakdown. That is my chart. Not a chart it redrew, not a photo of a chart, the actual image out of my document, full width, and it kept my caption underneath it. Document on the left, slide on the right. Figure A, quarterly revenue by region. Same bars, same numbers, same caption. It went in as a picture in a Word file and it came out as a slide, and that is the whole trick of this module. Three things make this reliable. Put the image inside the document rather than linking to it, because a link is not a picture. Give it a caption line, because that caption is what it matches against the slide. And keep it to one chart per section, since five in a row gives it no way to tell which belongs where.…
