Lesson 4.1 — Brand it once, reuse it forever

Remember the study from lesson one. Funded startups scored thirty eight percent higher on design. Here is the cheapest way to move that number, and it takes about four minutes, once. In the left rail it is called Design System, but what it actually holds is brands. Each one stores a colour palette, two font slots, a logo and the domain it belongs to. These two are real ones from my own products. Keep it tight. Two brand colours, not five. One font for headings and one for body. And the logo you actually use today, not the version from two years ago that is still sitting in your downloads folder. Do this once and every deck you make from then on starts on brand. Nobody on your team has to hunt for the hex code, and client work stops looking like a template somebody downloaded. For freelancers this is the single thing that lets you charge more, because cheap looking decks get priced like cheap work.…
